Henry Wallis' 'The Murder of Thomas Chatterton', analyse

Henry Wallis was the one who painted the murder of Tomas Chatterton.

Henry Wallis was born in London on 21 February 1830. His dad is unknown so Henry Wallis took his stepfather's name when his mother remarried Andrew Wallis in 1845 who was a London architect. Henry met the novelist George Meredith in 1828. Wallis and Georg Meredith’s wife, Mary Ellen, became lovers and they later had a son, Harold Meredith. But later Harold Meredith was change to Harold Wallis. Henry Wallis died the 20 December 1916

Thomas Chatterton is the one in the picture.

Thomas Chatterton was born in Bristol on November 20, 1752 and he is known as the first Romantic poet in English. His poetic imagination and empathy in the Middle Ages world made him one of the runners of romance. Chatterton's inventive and emotional poems are, however, pastiches, thus his own Rowley Poems, as he assumed, were authentic 14th century ballads. With his sad destiny - a short life of poverty ended with suicide in a twig in London - he became the prototype of the romantic genius for the Romans.

I am standing in the doorway looking around the room where Thomas Chatterton died. I don’t know if it is murder, or if he committed suicide. Chatterton is just lying dead on he’s sofa like nothing happen. He’s room is very messy. There is papers all over the floor they look like poems. To the right he’s jacket is lying over he’s chair, it is very chilly because the Window is completely open. There is a little bottle on the floor and it looks like there has been medicine or something poisonous, so he could have committed suicide bye drinking all the contents of the bottle, it is actually the only option since there are no tracks of murder.
