The aboriginals, the first people in Australia. They came from the Southern Asia. They have been there for about 50.000 years, and then the Brits came in 1770 and claimed it theirs. Here we see one of the many dilemmas from this movie. It´s harsh to write but they were slaves just as much Africans. Sometimes we forget that The Aboriginals lived in areas constantly watched by British people, just like African slaves. Then the women, and here comes another dilemma, began interfering with white men and when their children came, they would be put at camps, like Moore River. They would learn how to be British. The Brits believed that if they taught the half-blood aboriginals to be civilised, they would in the long run, become white. That is what we see in this movie. Molly, Daisy and Gracie were taken from their mother(s) to be British. But they could see it was wrong and therefor ran off. And somehow walked the 1600 km they were away from home. The aboriginals were so oppressed, and the British people were so eager for changing the Aboriginals lives and culture. And therefor needed to be saved from them self. And what does that even mean? “Keep you from doing something you’ll regret later”, or sometimes “keep you from doing something that will harm you, even if you don’t understand that it will”.
