The Body is a short story written by Stephen King in 1982. The body is a part of a bigger short story collection named, Different season. The body is about four young men that try to find a children’s dead body that has disappeared. The main character is named Gordon Lachance who is twelve years old. Gordan has a club together with five of his friends, Chris Chambers, Teddy Duchamp, Vern Tesso, and the two others but we do not get to know their names because of their inactive roles in the short story.

One day, Vern tells the club a story that he had overheard his big brother tell his friend, Charlie Hogan. They know where the corpse of the dead boy, Brower is. Brower is a young man at the same age as Gordon. The club members start to like the idea of finding the corpse because that will be their only chance of being mentioned in the paper.

The boys are planning to make a sleepover at Vern’s place, but they will not tell their parents about their plans. On the way to Vern, Gordon and Chris meets on the street in front Vern´s house. Chris has something to show Gordon. The two boys, Chris and Gordon run out to The Blue point, and Chris shows a gun and sights. Suddenly a big bang appears, the gun was charged, but none of the boys knew. At night the club members are slipping out. During the night the boys experience a lot of different kind of danger and fear, but this is where their friendship and togetherness are put on a test.
