Her hands were hit by the light of the red glow from the cigarette. It became stronger as she breathed the last big mouthful of smoke into her lungs. She kept it down there while she thought of the thing she wanted the most in the world right now, a smile. Juliet wanted to smile, smile like she really meant it, as if she was really happy. She heard a knock on the door, and another one, and another one. She put out her cigarrett in the ash cup next to her, and got up to see who it was.

There was almost no light in the apartment, only the sad glow of some candle lights. Still she managed to find her way to the door. She opened it carefully. The bright sunlight burned her eyes, and she lifted her hand to cover them. When she got her vision back, she saw that there was no one outside. She made an annoyed sound and went back inside again. The sunlight from outside lighted up her apartment, and she realized how messy it was. There were dirty dishes, old pizza pieces, empty bottles of alcohol and cigarrett butts all over the place. She was searching for her lighter, with a cigarette in the corner of her mouth while thinking about how much she needed to take herself together. She was actually pretty embarrassed of how she could live like that. Was she really SUNKEN THAT DEEP? Juliet decided that there was nothing else to do, than tide up. She found her lighter under her bed, and light the cigarette in the corner of her moth. Maybe she should get some fresh air inside the little apartment? She took the ash cup and walked slowly over to a window to roll the curtains back. She pulled them quickly back. She dropped the ash cup on the floor and jumped back, while she was screaming. A little girl with long blond hair was standing right at the other side of the window, hammering and knocking like a possessed. She stopped knocking and started looking at her with a mad face. And then, suddenly her mad face turned in to a big smile. She just smiled like nothing happened.
