The Boy Who Kept Believing

It started in high school in state of Florida where this boy called Andre DeBose he lived. In a slum hood where every one was gang involved, if he wanted to stay alive he had to where red. Because he lived in the bloods territories, and they where red, and they hate the crips who wears blue. So little Andre he had to go wear red, but his favorite color was blue and his dream was to get to play for the Florida gators.

Andre friends really wanted him to be a gang member like them but he wanted to play football and stay good in school. It is hard when you are the only one who don’t want to be a gang member. So if he wanted some one to hang out with him, then he had to go out some late at night hanging out with the gang, but he didn’t liked it. But he started to act like a blood and mess around in the class and did not do his home work but he still always kept coming to his football practice. football was what he really loved to do. Next morning one of his best buddies Darrent Williams came over and said the crips and us (bloods) are having a big fight, and could they count on Andre just said (cooled) yea of course. My heart is in blood gang. When Andre came home he was so depressive and thought he would die in the fight next morning. they all skipping school for the fight. All the friends where there and were all ready to fight the crips. Sddenley one of us (bloods) fired a gun. at one person Andre was really scared and ask Darrent was there supposed to be guns in the fight? yea said Darrent. 2 minutes later the fight was at its highest my home boy Darrent had now a gun which he took from one. I had no gun and i did not dear to shoot a gun but Darrent had already shoot one person. I just stay close to Darrent when suddenly Darrent stuck his head out to see, if he can run over to the other side Darrent thought it was clear so we ran. When suddenley we get soot after. I could see Darrent laying down and I hurried to take him with over to the other side. When I was with hi he says to me, hey man run don’t die like me, I know you love football I saw some of your practice when you didn’t know it. Run! Andre run! I said don’t die! man don’t die! he said take care and run. I put him down and I ran like I never ran before. Someone shoot at me and I remembered Darren’s words and ran like I was running run with ball and I was gone. I was thinking nobody will ever catch me. When I got home I jumped into bed like I have been sleeping over me my mom opens the door and looks at me and smiles and closes the door again. Next morning I could almost hear Darrents mom cry to me I shaked off the thought and then I ran to school Everybody talked about the fight. Some looked wired at me I just walked to my looker were the gang came over to me and said are you coming with us and I said no. I am not doing any more gang thing. I want to focus on my talent to play football. And the gang started to tease me and yell at me and calling me pussy who run for a fight. I just said man in a half year I be in the gators jersey and you probably be dead. he just thh at me and walked. After school I was in a hurry because I had to go to a big game where the Florida’s scouts came to see me play. If a play well maybe get into university of Florida (UF). I stepped on to the fielded and I was really nervous. Later in the match I played okay but not good to turn heads but if I scored this touchdown, I would be noticed because the next play is the last and if I do socore we win the championship. We line up so I get the ball the thrown to me and I thought about Darrent and run like never before, faster than when I got shot after. The Gator scouts took there glasses of and looked again and now we are champs and I was going to the Gators or that’s what I hope for after I got out of the looker room, the Gators scouts waiting for me and they said we want you to play for us in the next season in college and I said…. YES
