Abstract
Two rune stones, two piles of earth and a church. In 1994 these things was appointed to be priceless for mankind. One of the two stones tells with the word of that king, that Denmark officially is Christian now. This stone is now a symbol of Denmark and is pictured on the first site of the passport of every Danish citizen.
The history of these objects tells us of repetitive attempts to change the religion of a little country up north and about a king with a difficult dilemma. Maybe this king was forced to change his religion on political reasons. Maybe it was a natural step to change religion.
I will in this paper try my best to find answers about what happened and why. I will explain many theories and let yourself decide what you believe.
