This project deals with the relation between the nation and the people of America, in addition the point was to analyze Donald J. Trump’s inaugural address, and in the end to sum up this study, it will discuss of which ideology Trump uses throughout his speech. The study proves that the different ideologies, has different political positions, liberalism means the nation should have a distant relation with the people, while populists means the nation should have a good cooperation with the people.
In order to analyze the inaugural address, the study focused on the different rhetorical devices he benefits. He uses a lot of anaphora to send a clear message by repeating the same things over and over. Trump uses pathos as well, to create a warm emotional feeling with the listeners. The aim with the discussion was to figure out which ideology his speech is based on, with help from the analysis, it is safe to say that Trump’s speech leans on populist conservatism, he talks a lot about giving the people the power, and giving back all the Americans their jobs, like it was back in the days.
