The first world war saw so much destruction in Europe, that the after effect of the war could be felt all the way up to the second world war. The Wall Street Crash in 1929 wouldn’t have happened if there had never been a war. The Wall Street Crash had an impact on Germany, which relied on the financial aid from America. So, to find out why the first world war happened, how the after effect could result in the Wall Street crash which helped the rise of the Nazi party, there will first be review on the progress towards the war. Then an analyze to see what caused the war, in addition there will be a discussion of the opinions by several historians on which nation was to blame for starting the war. In the end there will be a discussion, of the impact of the Versailles Treaty on the political development in Europe. The study concludes that the treaty of Versailles not only was a way for France to get back at Germany for the war in 1870, but it had helped the antidemocratic Nazi party to rise up.
