The short story is called Indian Camp it was published in 1924 and was written by the author Ernest Hemmingway. It is about a young boy named Nick, his father who is a surgeon and Nick’s uncle George, who travel to an Indian camp, because the father has to help a woman giving birth. The themes of this story is growing up and going through a rite of passage which we see Nick going through when watching the woman give birth. The bond that we see shared between Nick and his father brings the theme of family in to story, along with the contrast of life and death from the woman bringing life to the world while her husband takes his own.
