What caught me at first was the first verse, how everything sounded so in place, and how everything rhymed, it is so well written, and if you dive into the context it all makes even more sense.
It’s from a movie called 8 mile, where Eminem as a young rapper has rap battles against others. The song starts explaining one of the rap battles. “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy, there’s vomit on his sweater already: Mom’s spaghetti.”
I think the beat is very good, and it’s catchy, it gets you in a concentrated and in a “gassed” mood, and I usually listen to it before I race.
I think his message and intention was to motivate people, as the chorus says “You only get one chance, do not miss your chance to blow, this opportunity comes once in a lifetime yo,” and in the intro “Look, if you had one shot or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted, would you capture it, or just let it slip?”
Almost everything, especially in the first verse, rhymes. It’s very well written and it would definitely not be the same without the rhymes, the genre is rap, so if it didn't rhyme, it would ruin the whole point.
