Deepfakes og AI: Konsekvenser og modforanstaltninger

We frequently see celebrities, politicians and other famous people on the internet speak their minds,

but how often is what we see and hear actually true? Obviously, fake videos and pictures have been

around for decades now, so no one was prepared for the actual deepfakes. Deepfakes are synthetic

videos, images and even voice recordings that people use for entertainment, fun and for other

opportunities. However, some people believe that deepfakes can cause problems for the society and

the government, as literally everything and everyone can be faked through AI. Obviously, most

people wouldn’t dare to use AI to create problematic fake content that would put the government at

risk, but there are also people out there, who would definitely use deepfakes to their advantage, which

means that synthetic media has to be stopped.

We see it everywhere – on Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and even Twitter. Some entertainers and

entrepreneurs make funny videos based on fake videos and pictures of celebrities, and when the

content reaches the target audience, such content makes the majority of people laugh. However, some

people still believe that the use of fake media, also called “synthetic media”, can cause huge problems
