Vikings were a seafaring people living in Scandinavia. They are known all over the world, for their raids, parties, not fearing death, mentality and their influence on the history of the British Isles. They traveled all over the world even to Vinland - today known as Canada. Even though they also raided in France and the Mediterranean, we will focus on the British Isles.

The first well documented raid of the Vikings is the attack on the English monastery Lindisfarne in 793. This is widely known as the start of the Viking Age.

Ship raids

The most important part of the Viking raids were their ships. they used them to travel, and raid buildings and towns close to the shore.

Fierce warriors

the Vikings were feared wherever they went. They were ruthless, raped, killed, stole and made slaves everywhere they went. They were also used as mercenaries around the globe, because of their unique and unbelievable fighting skills, and the mentality of not fearing death.
