My name is Big D and I’m 18 years old and I live with my mama and my sister in Compton California. My dad left when I was 3 years old because he had some “business” he never came back from, and we never heard from him since.
I was suspended from my school so now I’m mainly around the city selling drugs and running from the police. I also make some music with my friends since I was like 13 years old and for about a month ago, we played one of our songs in a nightclub where some guy from a record label wanted to talk to us. He said he saw potential and that he wanted to see us in his office the next day.
He wanted to sell our records and after a month or two we had sold quite a lot of records and we quickly become some sort of ghetto stars and when we walked down the hood, we often heard our songs play on radios and in their car.
Its nearly 2 years since we dropped some of our music and we mostly have been playing at some local nightclubs and just mainly small jobs like that and we still did some hustling to make things go around. But for about a year and a half we have also been working on an album and it drops in about a month time and people are wild to hear our album. We also have had some sales of our record outside of LA, so now in our whole life the pressure and the opportunity to actually do something with our life has never been so high before.
