The first Harley Davidson bicycle was made in a wooden shed in 1903 by William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson. The first bike was sold to a schoolyard pal, Henry Meyer. In 1904 William and Arthur found the first Harley-Davidson Dealer who thereafter opened a store and sold three of the first production. Two years later won a Harley-Davidson motorcycle a 15 mile race in Chicago. In 1910 was the logo we know the day used for the first time. 1912 was a big year for the Harley-Davidson company, because the headquarters and the main factory was build at Juneau Ave. in Milwaukee, and that they sold there first motorcycle in outside of the U.S. By 1920 was Harley-Davidson the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world. There were more than 2000 dealers in 67 countries worldwide. In 1943 died William S. Harley 1947 began Harley-Davidson selling the classic black leather motorcycle jacket. 30.12.1950 died the last founder of Harley-Davidson, Arthur Davidson. In the 1050s Harley-Davidson riders won 18 of 24 National Championship and set six new racing records. Elvis Presley posed for the cover of the May Enthusiast sitting on a 1956 motorcycle. In 2003 came more than 250.000 people to Milwaukee for the 100th Anniversary Celebration and Party.
