In North Carolina, they do have “America’s favorite drive” This is the Blue Ridge parkway with mountains, small mountain towns, and a national forest. “The Blue Ridge Parkway” has become the national park service’s biggest attraction. Around 20 millions people visit each year to drive, camp or just watch the view. The North Carolina tourism industry employs more than 190,000 people. The state is the 6th most visited in the country. North Carolina is also home to some of the southeast’s biggest film festivals, like the national black theatre festival, and the full frame documentary film festival in Durham. NC has three aquariums in: Roanoke Island, Pine Knoll Shores, and Fort Fisher. In Roanoke Island they have a lot of things to do and see like features sharks, alligators, and river otters as well as programming that includes dive shows, live animal encounters and feeding programs. NC do also have some theme parks and one of them is “Ghost town in the sky” Ghost Town has attracted millions of guests from all over the country,
Ghost Town closed its doors in 2002 after 41 years of successful operation. Coburn did sell the property to its new owners in August, 2006, and was reopened in May, 2007.
