William was surfing on the net when suddenly it was there. The dream job. He grabbed his phone while crossing his fingers on the other hand, he dialed the number. A guy named Peter answered the phone and said: “This is Peter, you have called The New York Times how may I help you?” William quickly but nervously answered: “Hello, my name is William, and I saw your advertisement on the internet, and It have always been my dream to become a journalist.” In the back noise you could hear Peter turning and writing on papers. He then said: “Yes, you can come to our main office in two hours time, and we will have an interview.” William then looked at the clock and saw it was 1.05 pm, then he said: “Alright great, two hours I will be there! See you then.” He then hung up and wrote to his best friend Alex about what had happened and where he was going this afternoon. Alex quickly answered supportively. William was getting ready and suited up and brushed his teeth. He looked at the watch on his arm he was wearing in honor of the occasion. The time was 2.20 pm, and he knew it would only take him about 10 minutes to walk to his interview. But he wanted to be there in good time, so he walked at 2.30 pm. Outside of The New York Times he felt his heart racing. He looked at his watch again, 2.55 pm. Only 5 minutes till the interview. He took a deep breath and walked into The New York Times head office. When he came in he looked around in the big lobby and found a map of the building. He looked it through and found the place for his interview. Standing in the elevator listening to the relaxing music he calmed himself a bit. When it reached the 8th floor, it stopped and the doors opened. In the interviewing room, the interviewers talked slowly with him. He was very nervous but ignored that feeling and acted confident. After 20 minutes of talking he went outside while the interviewers discussed if he was the man they were looking for, and he was. When he came back in, the interviewers welcomed him to The New York Times. Surprisingly he smiled and asked how come he was what they needed. They then answered he was exactly what they were missing, a young happy, selfconfident guy with a good brain, they say that already from when he walked in with the big smile on his pretty face, he was what they needed.
