Skagen painters The Skagen painters were a Scandinavian artists' colony, which settled in Skagen to paint in the extraordinary light, which is said to exist this place. Most of their artistic production was natural images. It was also realistic outdoor paintings in rich colors and of common everyday chores. Skagen painters are most known to have painted pictures of fishermen, who had a hard and dangerous life.
