Ku Klux Klan: formation og ideologi

I have chosen to talk about the k.k.k mainly because I am interested in gaining an understanding of the klans formation and their ideology.

History

Formation: After the civil war in 1865, decided six well educated men to form a social club which from the begging was meant as a form for joke on there thoughts on how society should look like. The social club was founded in a small village called Pulaski Tennessee. But what started as a joke soon turned into a racist violence organization. The KKK society had a lot of members, and they formed a hate against the black population, Catholics, communists, and Jews. They wore linens over their backs and used pillowcases on their heads to terrify the black people and at the same time a symbol to confirm the preferred skin colour - white.

Out of thin air would several hundred members come storming, and just as quickly as they had come, they would be gone again. And after them they would in most cases have left fright, horror, torture or death

At this point the law turned a blind eye to all the things that happened right in front of them and it was indeed a lawless time.
