The text “Reunion” is about a boy named Charlie, who has not seen his father for about 3 years, where his mom left his father. The boy finally should meet his dad again, and wrote a message to his father, that he would be in New York between trains for an hour and a half. His father’s secretary wrote to say, that the father will meet him, at the information booth at noon.
He was exciting to see his father, and it felt like his father was a stranger to him, because he had not seen him for a long time.
At twelve o’clock sharp Charlie’s father was coming through the crowd, and as soon as Charlie saw him, he felt like it was his father, his flash, his blood, his future and his doom. Charlie’s father was a big, good-looking man.
Charlie was very happy to see his father again. They went out of the station and up a side street to a restaurant.
The restaurant was very empty at this time, and the bartender was quelling with a delivery boy.
Charlie’s father saw an old waiter in a red coat down by the kitchen, and he shouted after the waiter and clapped, which gave the waiters attention. The waiter came over to the table, and said “were you clapping your hands at me”. Charlie’s father asked him to calm down, and said that he wants two Beefeater Gibson’s. The waiter said that he doesn’t want to be clapped at, and then Charlie’s father was sassy to the waiter.
