1. Introduction

Since the cold war ended, studies about conflicts have risen to the top of the international agenda. Questions about how to resolve different kinds of conflicts and how to prevent them are widely examined within the academic sphere (Ramsbotham, Woodhouse and Miall 2011). These questions are also some of the questions that will be examined in this assignment. How can conflicts be resolved and prevented with the use of different conflict approaches? As well, I will discuss what kind of peace is achieved when approaching conflicts with different conflict approaches. The research question that I have chosen and that will lead me to answer the questions above is the following:
