Den iranske revolution 1979 og kvinders forhold

This assignment is about the revolution in Iran in 1979. The time before, under and after the Iranian revolution will be explained, and the groups of the Iranian society that supported the revolution will be analyzed. Whit that in mind the conditions of the women in the Islamic republic will be analyzed and discussed. This will be done by analyzing historical and religious sources and texts. In 1979 Khomeini ordered that all Iranian women should wear headscarves while being in public. The text focuses on woman’s conditions in the Islamic republic Iran. Did the revolution lead to the oppression ore emancipation of Iranian females? Khomeinis new law freed many of the traditional and religious woman, that weren’t allowed to where their scarves in public before. This does not make up for the oppressive laws that were also made after the revolution. It will therefore be concluded that the Iranian revolution did free the Iranian women but they were not given enough rights to make it possible to conclude that the revolution did not oppress women.

Iran i 1970’erne var et land med økonomiske og sociale problemer, der endte i en revolution i 1979. Opgaven starter med en historisk gennemgang af tiden før revolutionen, hvor Iran var præget af korrupte reagenter, og kolonimagternes interesse i den iranske olie. I 1960’erne gennemgik Iran en modernisering efter vestligt forbillede. De uroligheder som industrialiseringen udløste, dannede optakt til revolutionen.
