The Old Fisherman

Let me tell you a story, a story about a legend. It’s a story about an old fisherman, but not just any fisherman, this man is so great, stories have been told for decades. My dad told me this story, and his dad told him.

His name was Paul George. Paul had a wife, but no children, even though they tried to get one. Paul’s wife wanted a child so bad, that she got a depression. The wife thought there was something wrong with Paul, so she left him after 30 years of marriage. The divorce broke Paul’s heart, it was so hard for him that he stopped coming to work. Paul of course got fired, and after that he didn’t have any income at all.

Paul had a little boat, which he used to use, when the wife started getting angry, because she couldn’t get a baby. Since Paul didn’t have any income, he had to sell his house, he had nothing left except, that little boat. One day Paul had an idea, he had heard around town, that fishermen was earning a lot of money, so Paul took his little boat out in the sea.

The first six months Paul barely got any fish, even though he did as all the fishermen, he went out fishing same days as everyone else, when they wasn’t out, Paul wasn’t out, but everyone else got loads of fish. Paul didn’t understand, although he did know everyone else had bigger boats then him, but Paul couldn’t afford a bigger boat. Things were going very bad for Paul, and he had to eat the few fish he caught, so there wasn’t any left to sell.
