Analyse af 'Gangster Squad' og gangsterfilmgenren

This paper analyzes the film ”Gangster Squad” directed by Ruben Fleischer due to the use of stylistic effects and characteristic elements of the gangster movie genre. It examines the dramaturgy and the correlation between the setting and the act of the scene by the use of the Hollywood model and a detailed shot-to-shot analyzis of carefully selected passages from the film. The paper supplies relevant knowledge of iconic genre features that support the final assessment and discussion of whether Gangster Squad is defined as being a gangster film. Containing mainly pros e.g. the use of typical characters, weapons and scene setting and only a few cons, with a view to the flattened character description, Gangster Squad can indubitably be placed within the classical gangster film genre.

Indledning

Med udgangspunkt i filmen ”Gangster Squad” som er instrueret af Ruben Fleischer, vil jeg i min opgave foretage en analyse og fortolkning af filmen, med særlig fokus på gangstergenren. Jeg vil undersøge hvad de klassiske virkemidler er i gangsterfilm.
