New York Never Again: En fortælling om en fest

I finally arrived back in England. What an experience! All I can think about right now, is how worried Suzie and Andy must have been, not knowing anything. I can’t wait to explain everything to them. At least it had a delighted ending. Suzie and Andy are my two best friends way back from high school, they are roommates and live in a small apartment in London and that is where I am heading now. Suzie opened the door and I was met by the biggest hug and a lot of questions like: “What happened?” and “Are you okay?”Andy was also very cheerful to see me again. We all sat down on their couch with a cup of coffee and I started telling the story:I have some family who is living in New York and the plan was that I should stay with them for the next couple of weeks. I was looking forward to try living in another country, and getting to know another culture. I was staying with my aunt, uncle and their son, my cousin. His name is Jerry and he is twenty-one, which is about one year younger than me. Jerry dropped out of college and that is why he is still living at his parent’s house. The night after I arrived. Jerry asked me, if I wanted to join him and his friends at a small party. I, of course, said yes. I was looking forward to experience a party in New York City. As it turned out, the party wasn’t that small at all. It was wild from the start. There wasn’t that much alcohol at the place, so I was wondering how people were acting that drunk. Then this tall skinny guy handed me a small bag with some strange pills in it, and I realized why people were acting like they did. Drugs. I started to get worried about Jerry and quickly hid the small back in my coat pocket, so that Jerry or no one else could take the pills. After a while I simply forgot the pills and I actually started to have a good time. The later it got, the higher the music went. Suddenly we heard sirens. The neighbours must have called the cops, because of the loud music. The cops forced their way through the door and they rapidly noticed that this wasn’t a normal party. They hardly spook, they just hand copped each and every of us and we were ordered into their car. We drove for about half an hour, and by the time we got there, we found ourselves at an old warehouse. They claimed, they had found the bag in my coat pocket, and they started asking loads of questions. I tried to explain that the pills weren’t mine, but they didn’t believe me. I started to get scared that I would never get home again and perhaps end up in prison. After a while they actually took us to a prison and luckily I was allowed one phone call. I called my mother and told her that I was arrested for possession of drugs. I explained what had happened. She took the first flight to New York and got me a lawyer. It took a lot of time, but finally we could head home.“Wow, what a trip!” Suzie said, and looked shocked. Andy just stared at me, looking just as shocked as Suzie. Suzie was right, what a trip. “New York never again.” I just said.Word count: 595
