London is the Capital of England. Is one of the most famous city’s in the world, every year hundred and thousands of tourist come to London to expedients they historic buildings and amazing shopping facilities. One of the most famous buildings in London are tower of London

History

tower of London was built in 1178 by William the Conqueror, after he after his victory in 1066. At first tower was just a small fortress made out of wood. But William demanded that it should be torn down and rebuild. It should be a symbol of his power and a prison for his enemies. 20 years later stood white tower ready. It was built by the themes. In the next centuries was tower of London only this building, a small farm and a single ring wall.

In the hundred years tower was extended many times. But in 1275 decided the king (Edward) that tower should have the biggest expansion ever and in 1285 stood tower finished as the tower we know today.

Prison

one of the things William wanted for his fortress was a prison for his enemies and so it was until 1820. The first prisoner there was Ranulf Flambard who was a bishop of Durham. He was found guilty of blackmailing. He was also the first person to ever escape form tower. He did it by smuggling a rope in in a wine barrel and used it to climb down the wall. The fact that he got wine even dog he was in prison say something abort the level of comfort he has as a prisoner.
