London- Scotland Yard (police force) (New) Scotland Yard have been a headquarter of the police since 1934 it lasted to about year 1960. And it has always been famous and known as “Whitehall 1212”, the number ‘1212’ have also been the most famous phone number in London – because it were the number of the information room at Scotland yard/ (“the yard”). The Whitehall place was Scotland’s first headquarter. Until 1829 London had ‘watchmen’ and unpaid constables, but no real police force. “The met” as it is called started just with 1000 police officers. But today there is: 31.661 police
