Today we are gathered to celebrate the confirmation of Lilly my lovely baby sister who isn’t that baby anymore. Lilly now you are a big girl, at least most of the time when you aren’t goofing around with silly friends playing dress up and doing prank calls. Or when you’re sleeping with you favorite teddy bear Mr. Snuggle in your arms.. Who said you need to grow apart from every little memory of your childhood.
But just as childish as you can be, just as mature are you. I remember how proud you where when you came to me and mommy and said; “I’ve just talked to Mrs. Smith and she asked me if I wanted to baby-sit little Anna!” Your eyes where shinning and you told me that you felt so mature, that Mrs. Smith would trust you to take care of this little girl. How it went afterwards I won’t talk about. I’m just joking Lilly because you are good at kids and you have always been. Every time you get a child in your arms they just stop screaming. It’s just unbelievable! You must have some kind of magic power or something?
And speaking of magic powers: The boys. You have always had boys running around and following your every move. Well at least some of the time. This one time when I picked you up in kindergarten you were sitting on the toilet, crying your eyes out because one of the boys had bitten your nose when you where trying to kiss him, and I said to you that you should just have bitten him back. The day after when you came home you looked up and me with a BIG smile on your face and said: “I did what you told me to do! I bit him back” and then you blinked and went in to play with your dolls. I was so chocked and from that day I learned not to joke about something like that anymore.
