To be accepted. To fit in. How do we get friends and how far will we go to fit in? People will be surprised of how far you’ll go to fit in and be like the norm. But what is the norm? The norm nowadays says to be different, but if you are too different you are weird. The pear pressure in school for instance is bigger than we think. No one wants to be alone and watch the others having fun and not being a part of it. If you want to be a part of it, you have to be and act like them. If a group doesn’t take some individuals and keep them out, they make a pear pressure without realizing. Pressuring the excluded to be and act like those people in the group.

We want to be the best, but we must obey from the masters to learn and fit in. We always compete and we want to be better, even when we don’t know it. We want to meet the famous and want to be like them. We behave like them to get respect and to talk to other people and communicate. We always fallow the group and do what they do, even when we don’t see it. We obey and do what we are told by the higher power in society. This is shown in the text “the lottery”. Even though the people are not thrilled about this event, they do it anyways. They do because it because the authority says they have to. They follow the group, because it’s tradition and they are told to. None of the inhabitants are showing any kind of objection, they just do it and do the consequences. This is obviously obedience, which is a human behavior and can be seen as amoral, immoral or moral. Obedience is when a person yields from other people or by the society. In this story “The lottery” the family obviously doesn’t want to stone the mother, but because she got the note with the dot on it. The family stones the mom, because they have to. They have to obey and they do it because it’s the norm and they want to fit in and please the masters. They want to please the crowd.
