The article: “Would An Alcohol Advertising Ban Work?” (Updated September 2009 by channel 4 news) inform us about in these days, we are in a situation were young people are groomed to drink, which is something that has a very bad effect on their health. 40.000 people die every year because of alcohol. Some people believes the reason to our problem is that often alcohol is advertised in sport, on music festivals, tv and on the internet. Changes needs to be done to prevent all the damage binge drinking does, therefore in this video, we are introduced to some people from British Medical Association who tells us about the consequences, and ask the question “Would an alcohol advertising ban work?”. Leading doctors see this as the only solution and call underage drinking an epidemic.

The industries themselves deny that they are targeting young people with their commercials, and simply try to changes the adult’s favorite alcohol brands. An argument is that there are rules that makes sure that advertisement is not targeting children under 18. On the other side, an alcohol company did a commercial with a dance that got very popular. Girls down to eleven years old were copying it. They still claim that this is not their purpose, but instead of completely banning advertising, they suggests a cooperation between themselves and the doctors, so the doctors have influence the advertising. However, the doctors do not want to support people buying alcohol in any way.
