The video “Advertising Ban?” published by Channel 4 news, a report made by the BMA, British Medical Association said that tough measures were needed to tackle the medical, psychological, and social harm caused by excess drinking. The doctors are so concerned in this that they even called it an epidemic and called out for a total ban for alcohol advertisement because they believe that it will clench the tide. Professor Gerard From BMA states that in the UK 40.000 people die every year because of alcohol related incidents, it has so much influence that some people especially the young ones think it is normal to indulge in it regularly. Michael Thompson from the Portman group says that the alcoholic drinks industries is not targeted at young ones, there are strict regulations on it one of them is that no one in the advertisement are to resemble a 25 or under year old person. The law states that if new problems emerge related to alcohol then the regulators would have to take it serious. The BMA claims that there are enough evidence especially when the advertisement go viral and wants it to stop.
