The movie is about the girl named Jess who loved football and her biggest dream was to play for England, but her parents wouldn’t let her play or her mother wouldn’t. Her mother wanted her to be a good daughter like herself. She wanted her to be traditionally and she wanted to teach her to prepare a complete Indian meal, and to marry a nice Indian boy. While the other teenage girls in her culture have accepted their upcoming marital dilemma, Jess wants something more. She wants to receive a good education, to become the female David Beckham, and she went behind her mother’s back and played football in the park with some boys, but then this girl, Jules, saw her playing and told her about a soccer team in town.
Jess got on the team and she played for them, yet her mother still didn’t know. At the time she was on the team she fell in love with the coach, Joe, but Jules was in love with him too. So it was really complicated,
Jess’ sister got married, while Jess was playing a football match and won and at the end of the movie her mom allows her to keep playing football.
