Why do some people have an eating disorder? How do they get one? Well, I guess that’s two pretty big questions. I don’t think there’s only one reason. I think it different from person to person. It’s about yourself and how your life is.
I’ve never had an eating disorder. I have a few friends that have struggled with it. I’ve never really talked about it with them. I guess, it’s a thing you talk to your family about, not your friends. But again, I guess it’s different from person to person. Personally I wouldn’t talk to my friends about it. Or maybe I would tell my very best friend about it, but not my classmates or other friends.
I think your self-image plays a big role. If you love yourself and your body, why then ruin it by stop eating or throwing up after every meal? That doesn’t make sense to me. But if you feel bad about yourself and your body and want to change it, then it makes more sense.
Some see their self as fat and want to be thin. Some see eating disorder as the only, and maybe the easiest, way to get thinner.
Bulimia is an eating disorder, where you throw up after a meal. It’s damaging to the teeth because of the gastric juice.
