Summary of Hansel and Gretel

The short movie is about Hansel and Gretel who live with their poor woodcutter Father and stepmother in a house in the forest. The woodcutter's wife decides to take the children into the wood and leave them there, so she and the woodcutter father do not starve to death. Therefor they go to the forest where their father and stepmother leave them alone in the dark Hansel and Gretel walk into the forest and find a cakehouse. The two kids meet the woman who live in the cakehouse and furthermore can stay with her. The woman is mean to them and she want to feed Hansel up, so she can eat him, but the kids are cleaver an have the power to win over the witch and the kids find gold in her cakehouse and bring it back to their father, so all can be happy again.

To be a grown up is not funny it can be very scary and make you unconfutable and that happened for Hansel and Gretel. To be left alone in the dark forest without anything and try to find back two times, and the last time It did not go well, they must get the best out of the situation and see what the future will bring them. All kids find it difficult to be a grown-up person because there is a big responsibility to be a grown-up person. In the short movie we can see that Hansel take the father role over Gretel, so she can be safe. Hansel and Gretel are kids of a poor woodcutter father, their mother past away when they got born, they are clever and brave. Hansel has light hair; brown eyes and he is skinny. He is brave and want to take care of his sister Gretel. Hansel is also a cleaver boy Gretel has light hair; blue eyes and she is skinny. Gretel is afraid to be left alone and she is shaking of fear (2m45s). Gretel shows typical girl behavior when she cries and let Hansel take the lead but when it counts, she is brave too example when she pushes the witch into the oven. Their father is poor and work hard as a woodcutter. He is skinny and have blond hair and he dress like a typical woodcutter. He is married for the second time. He loves his kids very much, but he gets dominated by his new wife, he is a sissy because he does not stand up to his new wife when she wants to take his kids away and leave them into the forest. The forest is cold and dark when they leave the kids in the forest. First time the parents leave the kids (2m17s) the forest looks light and cozy but, in the background, you can see the darkness. When the family is in the daylight the sounds are relaxing and happy (1m57s) and when they leave the kids the music changes into heavy and scary sounds with one owl howling and other wild echoes and the 2th time the parents leave them in the forest there is no changes in sounds and settings. It was not their decision to leave Hansel and Gretel in the forest, it was their ( evil ) decision. The stepmother has black hair and dark eyes, ( she looks like a witch ) and she hates the kids. She is from a wealthy family and hates to be poor. The stepmother is a very dominating woman and the short movie tell anything about kids of her own.
