The term “viral video” means a video made popular by sharing on the internet and social media such as , Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and snapchat. These videos are mostly not of great value and are just created and shared to put a smile on people’s faces, however they can also be used to draw attention to important topics and to change the world in a positive way.

This essay will discuss both points of view on this case.

First of all it is important to get permission before uploading a video to the internet because viral videos stay in the world wide web forever, and if you get put on public display involuntarily it can almost ruin your life. This happened to a boy named [NAVN A] who was the laughing stock of his High School for years because of an only two minute long video of him practicing a star wars choreography. One of the kids from his school discovered the tape and he found it very amusing so he uploaded it to YouTube. The video quickly went viral and the bullying got so bad that the poor boy was forced to quit school and check into a psychiatric ward with severe depression. In the comment section of the video people were ruthlessly telling him to kill himself, and in an article on Ghyslian’s traumatic experience he states: “No matter how hard I tried to ignore people telling me to commit suicide, I couldn’t help but feel worthless, like my life wasn’t worth living”.
