You have probably heard it before. Smartphones are taking over the world and humans are paying more attention to the screen than the world around them. In Jane Brody’s ‘’Hooked on Our smartphones’’ she talk about the fear of turning into robots that will no longer know how to talk with one another face to face. This is so far fetched from reality that it's at the point of being delusional. I have never heard of or seen any person that was unable to speak to other humans in a polite and normal way, regardless of how much time the spend on the screen.
We should not be scared of the future of technology, but instead embrace it and all the good things that come with it. access to information has never been faster. you can get in contact with anyone in the world within seconds. and you can be entertained anywhere any time if you are bored. There is a lot of old clever people that just want the things to go back how they were, mostly because they don't understand this technology and can see its full potential. Unlike us, the future generation, we can understand it.
Jane also talk about how children over-use the digital world and how a woman she came to know was sitting with her phone one summer on vacation instead of going to museums, walks and concerts.
