I had a difficult journey before I came to Centrepoint, I have been homeless, I was involved with drugs, and criminal community.
I have been sleeping in unsafe places like bus shelters. And falling in with a bad group of people. And that’s led to run ins with the police.
I moved to Bradford when I was just 19, alone and without knowing anyone. I got a job and started renting a room after meeting some people, but these new friends led me down a dark community.
After leaving a bail hostel, before I came to Centrepoint, I would stay at the bus station. However long I could stay there. But now I have a better understanding of life.
It was Supported Housing Officer Sam Temple that helped me out of isolation and trouble and into college, training in a boxing gym, working as a volunteer and finally into a career he loves.
I had no friends, or hobbies, when I got help form Sam. I thought I may could only find a job in a warehouse. But Sam helped me to get the career I love.
I learned from Centrepoint that if I want to do something I can. Centrepoint helped me find my voluntary role, my work and my boxing training.
