I am very happy to see so many of you here tonight, and I have been so excited to visit you. I am here tonight, to tell you about the importance of our climate and the consequences of our overconsumption.
I will start off by introducing myself. My name is [NAVN A], and I am eighteen years old. I am a politically active student, and a part of the youth party of the political party The Alternative. I prioritize the climate and living as sustainable as I can. I also have a zero-waste living, where I reuse and recycle all of my non-biodegradable garbage. Over the last two years, all of the garbage I’ve provided fits in a can-sized container. It is very hard to make the transition to live sustainably, but when you get the hang of it, it is not that difficult at all.
Our consumption is ruining the planet. Our consumption contributes to the co2 emission, which is creating an overabundance of greenhouse gasses that trap additional heat. This additional heat will cause global warming, and essentially will all the ice-caps melt, and this will make our oceans rise and flood the earth. This is not a problem as we speak, but it will become one. For us, our children and so on. We are on a mission to reduce the waste we create.
