Analyse af 'The Man with Ten Personalities'

This text is published from Times, and it is from the 1978´s. The text is about a man that the police in Columbus has arrested. There is lots of stalked terror in Ohio State University this year, and one of the arrested men is William Milligan. William seems to be a classic young boy who unfortunately constantly comes in trouble with employers and the police. But William is different. He is very different from other offenders. He acts very differently from than others. That is because he has ten personalities. These ten personalities have different ages, I.Q. and there are both men- and woman personalities. When all his many personalities are expressed, nearly everyone agrees that Milligan is seriously ill.

“The Man with Ten Personalities” is written like it is a news in the newspaper. The title is catchy and makes you wonder “What is this all about?” That makes you want to read it, to find out what is going on. The text is published by Times and the writer is an anonymous observer. “Danny and Christopher are decant, quiet teen-agers, but Tommy, 16, who initiated the enlistment in the Navy, is depressed and has many schizoid charaoteristios” (P.1, ll. 23-26). The author tells us what the characters sees, hears and tell us what is on their minds. That makes this narrator an omniscient narrator. You can also tell that by the way it is written. The text is written in third person.
