The coronavirus is currently changing the life of every single individual in Denmark. Our ideas of normality, of public life, of social interaction, have been shattered.
Denmark has an excellent healthcare system, perhaps one of the best in the world. That can give us confidence.
But our hospitals will be completely overwhelmed if too many patients who suffer a severe course of Corona infection got admitted within a short timespan.
These are not just abstract numbers in a statistic, but a father or grandfather, a mother or grandmother, a partner, they are people.
We need to stand together to break the curve.
Despite COVID-19 being researched all over the world, neither a therapy against the coronavirus nor a vaccine has been developed.
I think that being under lockdown has been easier for me than for most, due to me living on a farm; I have the freedom to go outside and do pretty much whatever I want if it wasn’t for spring work having started on the farm. I get why being away from friends can be hard for some people, they miss going out and having fun, they think staying at home is boring and so on. I have to find an apprenticeship after the summer break, so I'm worried that the job market will have a difficult time recuperating after this pandemic.
