I just took a footprint test, to see when my personal earth overshoot day is. I'm sad to announce that my earth overshoot day is already in May. That means if everyone lived like I do we would need 3.4 whole Earths! But I'm still above the average in Denmark. Denmark’s overshoot day is already Marts 28th. Denmark is the 8th first country to overshoot, and I certainly don’t think that’s good enough. Because Denmark Is a well-educated and pretty rich country, we have the resources it takes to make a change now!
I just realized how fast we are destroying the Earth. Our own home! I was so shocked and thought my carbon footprint wasn’t that bad. When I saw the result, I felt so much guilt. The Earth is screaming for help! We must stand together as a generation and make a change.
We could for example cut down our meat intake, that would help a lot. Take public transport instead of driving a car by yourself, buy locally, unpackaged, unprocessed, and organic foods, travel and explore your own country rather than taking a flight across the earth, turn down our use of electrics such as not leaving the lights on, in place of watching Netflix all day you could read a book, shorter showers and I could go on and on.
