Immigration in Britain is a highly polarized issue and there are passionate views on both sides.
First, I want to thank you all for coming. My name is - and as a student at the London School of Economics and Political Science, I want to give you an immigration speech. We are going to look at both perspectives of being an immigrant. My mom is an immigrant, and she married a native, therefore I’m going to talk about how that works, both socially and on a cultural level.
Negative and positive opinions towards immigration exist in every region and every country. More often than not, immigrants are less educated, and their income is lower at all ages than those of natives. This is one of the reasons some people don’t support or like immigrants. But did you know that evidence suggests that immigration leads to more innovation because the presence of immigrants often creates opportunities for less-skilled native workers to become more specialized in their work? and this results in increasing their productivity and innovation. However, a lot of people don’t support immigrants, mostly because they have a different culture, this can result in difficulty in the immigrant’s social life. There can easily occur disagreements between the different religions and cultures.
