-The same day as the attacks happened George Walker. Bush the former president of America held a very important speech. First of all, he gave all the citizens hope. Especially to the ones who lost friends or family to the incident. Whats more important in relation to history is that he mentioned that he would make sure that the military was prepared to secure the nation. That leads up to the war against Afghanistan that George declared the day after the 9/11 attacks. That day he had a meeting with the national security team. He said that the 9/11 attacks weren’t just acts of terror, but that they were acts of war.

in the end of the meeting, he stated “that the United States of America will use all of their resources to conquer the enemy. He also said that this battle would take time and resolve, but make no mistake about it, the united states would win.

September 20th, 2001, he announces the war to the nation in another speech.

The first attack in Afghanistan on October 7th, 2001, happened by airstrikes. By the United states and Great Britain.

The ground war began on October 19th, 2001. In those coming weeks, Britain, Turkey, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, France and Poland all announce they would deploy troops to Afghanistan.
