Greta Thunberg og klimakampen

Greta Thunberg started of by sitting on the streets alone and striking from school for climate change. She then got social media attention for sitting on the same place every day, with a sign that said, “school striking for the climate”. People began to strike with her, and today she is the head of the world biggest climate change movement. Millions of kids strike around the world from school, to fight climate change. Greta Thunberg is fighting for the world leaders to act, to really focus on climate change and do a significant change. Greta Thunberg does not want to be standing in her situation, but she must as she says. Because world leaders are to selfish, they keep talking about economic growth, but now the things that matter. So, Greta Thunberg is fighting for people to judge and make world leaders act.

“We will be watching you”, is the first sentence from Greta Thunberg, at the UN Climate Action Summit. She means it seriously, because we have known about climate change for decades, and for decades world leaders have ignored it and done almost nothing. So, she means that from now on people will be judging and watching the world leaders very harshly, towards what do about climate change. “I should not be up here”, she says. Greta Thunberg is 100 percent right, it Is so wrong that a 16-year old must stand up and deliver a speech to the UN Climate Action Summit. But people are just to ignorant and selfish to care, so people are now depending on young people to act, and that is the truth. I am very glad that she brought that up because she should not be sitting in this position at all. “Entire ecosystems are collapsing, people are dying, and all you can talk about is money and fairytales”. By that she means that as I said, people are to selfish. For years, our ecosystem has been collapsing, and almost every single world leader have just been talking about economic growth, and how they can make they are country richer. “for more than 30 years the science have been crystal clear”. She is right about that, because we have known about climate change for such a long time but have still failed to act. “You rely on my generation sucking hundreds of billions of tons of your CO2 out of the air with technologies that barely exist”. That is an important fact, because we barely have the technology to complete UN´s missions of air pollution. Our world relies so badly for the new generation to make new technology that can literally suck billions of tons of CO2 out of the air, which is almost impossible when we do not even have the technology. “Young people are starting to understand your betrayal”. Young people are starting to understand that world leaders are relying on them to act, relying on them to make new technology and relying on them to fight climate change for them. that is not acceptable.
