Analysis of Barack Obama's 'The American Promise' speech

¨The American promise¨ that Barak Obama delivered Back in 2008 august at the democratic convention In Colorado, where is just had been chosen to be the candidate for president election. In the speech Barack Obama talks about this American promise and tells all the Americans, that they have fought so many years until now. And it isn’t the time to stop fighting, but instead keep going towards the future. He thurther more explains that we are not alone, but with the help of the whole nation of America, they will success. He also uses lot of time, telling what the American promise are and how they need to live their life as a happy American. In light of this, the focus of this analytical essay will be on the topics, sender/receiver, the circumstances and use of other rhetorical devices and at last the intention of the speech.

The topic in Obamas American promise speech is focusing on unity, work hard play hard, and that they always shall stay together as a nation no matter what in the present and future. This is aperent in section 3 “It is that promise…...that through hard work and sacrifice, ……. still come together as an American family, to ensure that the next generation can pursue their dreams as well.” Here in his speech, earlier President Barack Obama said that this promise is that the nation shall work hard to ensure that the American Dream is still alive for the next generation.
