Porsche 918 Spyder

We needed to make a presentation either about our trip to Vejle or a car. So, I want to write about my favorite car, and it is the Porsche 918 Spyder. The Porsche 918 Spyder, is a car made by Porsche from 2013 to 2015 in, of course, 918 units as the name. What is special about Porsche is its design, designed by Michael Mauer and the engine and how fast it was at the time and still is.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is a plug-in hybrid, though not quite as environmentally friendly as it sounds as it has a 4.6-liter V8 without turbo, but with 2 electric motors, one on the front axle and one for its 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, PDK as Porsche calls it. The V8 alone produces 608 horsepower, and the electric motors together produce 279 horsepower. With the 2 electric motors, the power reaches a total of 887 horsepower. This enables the car to drive from standstill to 100 km / h in an estimated 2.6 seconds, however, some have come down to 2.2 and 2.4.

The 918 is a part of the holy trinity, which contain 3 cars, the 918, the McLaren P1 and the Ferrari La Ferrari. The plug-in Porsche, with a 6.8kWh battery twice the size of the McLaren’s, 282bhp of e-thrust alone and an electric range of 12 miles is easily the most hybrid of the three. It’s capable of hitting 62mph in a little more than six seconds on electric alone.
