What does the stolen generation refer to? The stolen generation refers to the aboriginal

children who were forcibly stolen from their families between 1910 to 1970. The aboriginal

children were taken to make them “white” or breed them out. By making them white I mean

raising them as they were white. They would make them go to church and they took them

away from their natural habitat. The authorities in Australia would try to make the half-cast

aborigines to go the other way towards witness instead of the aboriginal culture.

Explain the reason why aboriginal children were taken away from their families.

The government has assumed that aborigines would eventually disappear or die out. But the

number of the full-blooded aborigines was declining. But aborigines were dying, but not
