Australia’s first people, as we known as Aboriginal Australians have lived on the Australian continent for longer than 50.000 years.

People say that the indigenous people of Australia originally came from Asia and because they´ve been there for so many years they are now considered as one of the oldest cultures in the world.

There were over 500 tribes, and they were all kind off different, languages and beliefs. The only thing the people shared was the love to art, dance and history. They didn’t used books to write down their history, instead they cut it into trees, caves etc.

Most of the aboriginal people was bilingual or multilingual, and more than 200 aboriginal languages were spoken, and hundreds of dialects.

They didn’t live permanently at one place, they builed camps all over the Australian contingent certain times of year. The aboriginal people survived by hunting. Men carried spears and spear throwers and in some areas boomerangs. Men hunted most of animals, while women collected vegetables and hunted small animals.

Though time the aboriginal people had occupied the Australian continent and adapted to climate conditions from wet temperate and tropical rainforests to extremely arid deserts. For thousands of years the aborigines lived alone on the Australian continent, until the end of the 1700s.
