"American History X" is a movie about a young man named Derek Vinyard and his family and he was a member of a racist group because black people killed his dad. The movie follows his life when he is in prison for a crime to a black person. In the prison, Derek starts to change perspective of how he sees black people after meeting different races than he was used to.
And his younger brother was going in his footsteps, Derek wants to help his younger brother Danny, who is still influenced by the group. Derek tries to show Danny that hate is not the answer.
The movie shows how hard and difficult it is to let go of anger. It also gives a good highlight of the importance of forgiveness and meeting people outside of the groups.
