The following assignment is dealing with the development of hiphop since the 80’ies. Hiphop is a lifestyle with different elements. The elements all relate to aesthetical ways of expression. The elements in the assignment are rap lyrics, beats and the different styles within hiphop. The development is characterized in the light of 3 Danish songs: “Provokerer, Onanerer”, by MC Einar (1988), “Hustlerstil”, by Østkysthustlers (1996), and “Proletar”, by Suspekt (2007). The songs are picked from three different decades; the 80’ies, the 90’ies, and after the millennium. The differences and similarities within the lyrics, and the music are put into context. What are the issues in the lyrics? Why are they rapping about the issues? Is there any difference in the issues of the past, and the present? What is due to the issue? “Fragmental” by Zaki (2001), the hybrid race rapper, is compared with the other titles. In the estimation is taking into consideration weather if the development has connections with the development of the society, and the technology.
Indledning
Fra 1980’erne og frem, har en subkultur udviklet sig I Danmark. Denne subkultur voksede frem med inspiration fra USA's ghetto: ”Bronx”. Den går under navnet hiphop, og er i dag en livsstil for mange unge. Kulturen giver sig til kende i gadebilledet, i medierne og på scenerne verden rundt. Hiphop er en æstetisk måde at udtrykke sig på, gennem musik, graffiti og dans. I denne opgave vil jeg fokusere på de 3 danske hiphopsange: ”Provokerer, Onanerer” af MC Einar (1988), ”Hustlerstil” af Østkyst Hustlers (1996) og ”Proletar” af Suspekt. Disse 3 grupper er alle gode eksempler for deres årti. De har alle bidraget til måden hiphop forstås i dag.
