If you want to be entrepreneur, it is all about having the right amount of passion. This passion often disappears at the same time, as your business grows bigger.

This happen in Coffee Republic, after Sahar Hashemi left the company to write her book, the company started to perform worse. They hired a person to handle the company, but he did not have the same passion as Sahar had. Taking the passion out of a company is like telling a runner that there isn’t any target, he could run, as hell without getting any result of it, there would not bee anything to have the passion for. With Bobby and Sahar, the customers would feel the lack of great service and join other coffee houses, of which there are plenty in the U.K.

Starting your own business is as much a lifestyle as it is a career. It is not a nine-to-five job, where you both physically and mentally leave your job when you go home. It is hard work from the start to the end, where you have to work more, but this is not all bad, because your work is your passion, where you do not mind to work harder and longer. As Sahar Hashemi says in the text, she left Coffee Republic because ‘she felt her business spirit was constrained by the corporate structure’, I think, she means that the business spirit is the passion. If her work is dominated by structured and monotonous, she simply loses the passion for the work. It is my experience from my own work, that you lose the passion for your job; for example, my work as servicing customers in BILKA is too monotonous. At the beginning, I love it, but now, after two years I hate it, so I know how Sahar feel, she simply got a passion for something else, in this coincidence writing a book. To keep the passion, there have to be some challenges in your work or you have to get more responsibility, so you can be creative and think on your own.
